A day in the Broome shop
Host: Yeeda Pastoral Co.

In November last year we opened our first Yeeda Australian Rangeland Meat shop in Broome. It has had fantastic support from locals since day one and we are really happy with how it has taken off.
A day in the shop begins early (but not as early as for the boys out on the stations!). Billy our butcher starts his day at the warehouse putting our customer’s orders together and getting the stock for the shop ready.
Billy spends most of the day slicing and dicing at the shop, stocking the shelves, and keeping the customers happy under the watchful eye of Marie (Haha!).
Marie is our retail guru and my mum! With years of experience in the retail industry, she keeps our shop looking fantastic and loves helping our customers choose the cuts that they need. It’s amazing how many different names cuts of meat can have depending on where you are from.
We also have three great girls working in the shop with Marie. It is a busy and physical job stocking the shelves, labelling, and pricing while keeping everything clean and tidy but Pip, Georgie, and Pam are always happy to help our customers and give out handy hints as they serve.
In the shop we offer bulk traditional cuts of Kimberley Freerange Beef. Our most popular cut would have to be our Kimberley Rib (Porterhouse on the Bone). Our corned beef is also a hit and we think that we have the best sausages in Broome (according to James Tobin from Weekend Sunrise and Richard Keam the Official WA Taste Master).

When Bill has prepared his orders for the day he runs around town delivering in his van. Some of our customers are local retail shops, restaurants, tour companies, and remote communities. One of our favourite customers is Geoff from The Oasis Eatery. Geoff was our very first customer! We are proud to supply him meat for his famous pies loved by everyone in Broome.

The shop usually has a mid afternoon rush as everyone does the school run and then another burst just before close as people pop in to pick up something last minute for dinner.
We have our Geraldton Shop due to reopen at the end of November in new premises at the Centro Stirlings Centre and we are just drawing up the plans for our new Perth Shop at Innaloo which is very exciting as we are hoping to have it open before Christmas.
